this will be a 3-day event that will take place in the beautiful city of fort lauderdale.

The South Florida Gospel Music Awards was founded by the late Peppi Hendrix. It was created to give accolades to hard-working, dedicated gospel musicians who, otherwise, would be deemed the unsung heroes in the music industry.

Tragically, though, in 2018, the founder of this creative innovation passed away and with his passing, the demise of The South Florida Gospel Music Awards seemed inevitable

However, in that same year, Lynn Brown the President of the Broward Alliance Of Gospel Music Professionals as being one of the principal leaders decided to pick up the mantel and continue this event by taking it to unprecedented levels that this event has never been before.

history has a story to tell and if you listen you will be in awe church of the month is Piney Grove 1st Baptist. it is the 1st Church built in fort lauderdale in 1904. Services started at a tree located at 2nd street and Brickell Avenue.

Under the leadership of Pastor Derrick j. hughes Piney Grove is one making major strides in kingdom building. Since Pastor hughes has been in leadership at Piney grove he founded the piney grove boys academy which has become very popular in the fort lauderdale area.

the Broward alliance in partnership with broward county cultural arts division presents Hallelujah which is an off Broadway musical celebrating the history and culture of gospel music.

this event takes place august 3, 2019 at the African american research library and cultural center located 2650 sistrunk blvd. fort lauderdale fl. 33311.
